The Green Triangle - Puerto Rico's Hidden Treasure

The Green Triangle contemplates the development of a tourist triangle in the Eastern portion of Puerto Rico that connects the attractions of the Yunque Rainforest with Roosevelt Roads and the municipal islands of Vieques and Culebra.

Riviera del Caribe

The redevelopment of the old Roosevelt Roads navy facility in Ceiba, denominated La Riviera del Caribe, is a key element in the Government’s strategy to create jobs and reignite the economy of Puerto Rico’s eastern region, including Ceiba, Naguabo, Vieques, and Culebra.  This tourist complex will include hotels, casinos, eco-tourist attractions, international airport, retail, yacht marina, and cruise ship ports. This world class destination promises to launch the redevelopment of Puerto Rico’s eastern region.

The site serves as the Gateway to the Caribbean and Central America and is home to a major airport with an 11,000 feet runway that will serve as bridge to Puerto Rico’s largest tourism market in the eastern region of the United States, Canada, Latin America and Europe.  The waterfront harbor provides two deep-water ports, including 40 feet-deep and 1,000 feet-wide navigation channel and three piers, which will allow cruise ships to serve as another link to the facility.

El Yunque National Forest, home to the only tropical rainforest in the U.S., already attracts more than 1 million visitors annually.  Its link to the Roosevelt Roads redevelopment has the potential, to draw more tourists to the property and Puerto Rico.  To top it off, it is minutes away from some of the world’s most magnificent beaches, such as Luquillo Beach, and the neighboring islands of Vieques and Culebra, which will be accessible by transit ferries.

This tourist complex will include hotels, casinos, eco-tourist attractions, an international airport, retail stores, yacht marina, cruise ship ports, educational centers, health services and recreational facilities. The project will be developed over 8,696 acres of land that have great economic, ecologic and historic value.
